Be a Nash County resident (or live within 20 miles of the county)
Be at least 21 years of age
Be of good moral character with positive credit history
Have a minimum of a high school education (college preferred)
Never been charged or convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor
Be physically fit
Possess or be able to obtain a North Carolina Law Enforcement Certification from the North Carolina Sheriff's Training and Standards Division
Detention Officer Recruits
To become a Detention Officer, you must:
Be at least 21 years of age
Be of good moral character with positive credit history
Have a minimum of a high school education
Never been charged or convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor
Possess or be able to obtain a North Carolina Detention Officer Certification within one year of hire from the North Carolina Sheriff's Training and Standards Division
