Mission Statement

Nash County Health Department provides a valuable, diverse range of public health services to detect and treat health problems early, prevent diseases, and support healthy lifestyles to keep our residents and community healthy.

Vision

To be a trusted, community-centered partner in health that transforms Nash County through equitable, accessible services, resulting in measurably improved health outcomes for all residents. Through unified approaches, proactive engagement, and comprehensive resource support, we will create a community where everyone has the opportunity to live their healthiest life.

  • Environmental Health staff works to keep our community healthy in the most basic ways. They protect our water supplies from sewage contamination, they help ensure safe food at area restaurants through regular inspections, and much more.
  • Health Education and Planning staff assess the community health needs, develop and conduct health education programs, and work with various organizations to establish policies to improve the community's health.
  • Clinical Services staff provide health screening, treatment and/or referral for possible health problems, and investigation of communicable diseases.
