TB Testing Explained
Step 1: An injection is put into the inner surface of the forearm. It should create a slight elevation on the skin (it will look like a small, skin-colored bump).
Step 2: You will return to your provider to get in 48-72 hours so they can read the test. If you do not return to your provider within 72 hours, you will need to be tested again. The provider reads the test by measuring the bump's swelling. Your provider will let you know the results of your test and let you know if any follow-up is needed.

This occurs when a TB skin test is positive, but the follow-up x-ray is negative. Treatment is still recommended for these individuals. Click the link below to learn more about latent/inactive TB.
